Welcome to DC … the Nation’s Capital… Great place to be
So many exciting things to do and places to see
Be sure to visit some of the hot spots DC is most known for
The Capitol, Washington Monument, White House and many more
First let’s start with the one and only Famous Ben’s Chili Bowl
Known not only for the food but for the historic stories told
You also have to visit the Florida Avenue Grill on Eleventh Street
The friendly staff and old diner atmosphere is really a nice treat
Georgetown is great for shopping and hanging out with friends
DuPont Circle and Adams Morgan is where the party never ends
The Lincoln and Warner Theaters feature the latest concerts and plays
Downtown near the action is where everyone usually stays
DC is also the home of the famous Chuck Brown
You can hear is GoGo music cranking all over town
Marcus Johnson playing live jazz at the Holiday Inn
Suttle Thoughts playing at Takoma Station getting it in
The Wizards, Mystics, Capitals and Redskins are our sporting teams
Unfortunately, the only titles we are winning is in our dreams
The games are played in Chinatown at the Verizon Center
WNBA in the spring; basketball and hockey in the winter
The tourist love the vendors and museums along the National Mall
It’s a beautiful place to see especially with all of the leaves in the fall
The National Cherry Blossom festival is held during the spring every year
People hear about it and travel from all over the world to be here
We’re proud of the new Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in southwest
The memorial is awesome featuring the great Dr. King, Jr. at his best
The Spirit of Washington is a nice cruise offering lunch and dinner
The Dandy cruise ship is a little smaller and intimate but is also a winner
Last but not least we can’t forget about our first Black President
Obama is his name and I swear he’s heaven sent
To make this world a much better place
For everyone no matter the income status or race
My True Essence
